The Arizona Tax Credit Program allows Arizona taxpayers to contribute up to a maximum dollar amount per year for the support of extracurricular activities at the public or charter school of their choice and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their Arizona state income tax. The maximum dollar amount is determined each year by the Arizona Department of Revenue. Currently, those amounts are up to $200 for individuals and $400 for married couples (filing jointly). Please visit the Arizona Department of Revenue’s website for up-to-date information.
A recent regulation change for Tax Credit contributions allows families to make an eligible tax credit contribution up to April 15 for the following year (for example, April 15, 2016 for a 2015 Tax year contribution). Please visit the Arizona Department of Revenue's website

What do I have to do to qualify for this credit?

What if I owe money at tax time?
If you owe the state money, you owe less by the amount contributed.
Who can contribute?
Any individual filing an Arizona state tax return.
Is a charter school considered to be a public school?
